Overview: Alphaville Graciosa Clube is an 18-hole parkland course in Pinhais, within the greater Curitiba area. Dan Blankenship planned the layout around the residential community’s existing green character, using lakes, native woodland fragments and varied grass contours to give the course a strong sense of place. The par-72 scorecard is deliberately unusual, with six par 3s, six par 4s and six par 5s. That even distribution changes the rhythm of the round and keeps club selection varied from start to finish.
History: Alphaville Graciosa Clube was founded in 2000, and the 18-hole golf course was inaugurated in January 2001. The club has continued to improve its facilities, including a documented revitalisation of the playing greens in 2022. Blankenship’s original environmental approach remains central to the identity of the course, which was planned to protect the area’s natural features rather than treat them as leftover space around a development.
Did You Know? The sixth hole is a par 5 of roughly 617 yards from the back tees, while the 17th is a par 3 of about 188 yards with a green framed by dense planting. They illustrate the range created by the six-six-six scorecard, moving from a long, three-shot challenge to a demanding short hole late in the round.
