Overview: Overlooking the Cromarty Firth, Alness Golf Club is a scenic and varied 18-hole course founded in 1904. The current layout at Quarryfield Park was initially laid out by J. Sutherland of Dornoch in 1922 and significantly redeveloped into its modern 18-hole format in the late 1990s. The course blends parkland and moorland characteristics, featuring firm, fast-running fairways and several holes that track the scenic banks of the River Alness. With its spectacular Highland vistas and its reputation for excellent drainage and year-round playability, the course offers a raw and rewarding round that captures the spirit of northern Scottish golf.
Did You Know? The "Quarryfield" name refers to the historic sandstone quarries located on the estate, some of which are still visible from the fairways. The club is a key part of the "North Coast" golf trail, popular with visitors exploring the scenic beauty of Ross-shire.
