Algonquin Golf Club

Overview: Algonquin Golf Club is a private course in Webster Groves, Missouri, with a compact parkland routing shaped by more than a century on the same site. Tom Bendelow laid out the original course and Robert Foulis oversaw construction, while later work expanded and updated the greens, bunkers and tees. The layout relies on changing angles, mature trees and precise positioning rather than length alone.

History: The club began with a rough nine-hole course in 1899, moved to its present site in 1903 and opened the new nine-hole course in June 1904. The full 18-hole course dates from May 1914, when the additional nine was completed and integrated into the original routing.

Did You Know? Algonquin is one of the few clubs west of the Mississippi to remain on the same site for more than a century. In 2010 the club completed a renovation that introduced new bentgrass greens, zoysia fairways, contoured bunkers and new tees.
