Overview: Designed by Nicklaus Design and opened in 2015, Al Zorah Golf Club is a spectacular world-class championship course located in the Emirate of Ajman. The layout is set within a stunning natural mangrove forest and a tidal lagoon system, offering a parkland setting that is unique in the UAE. The course is famously tactical, characterized by its wide fairways and large, undulating greens, but its primary defense is the shifting tidal levels of the lagoon, which significantly alter the playability of several water-guarded holes throughout the day.
History: The development of Al Zorah was a major expansion of the city's luxury real estate and sporting infrastructure, and the golf course was designed to be its central crown jewel. The Nicklaus team sought to integrate the layout seamlessly into the mangrove ecosystem, utilizing natural wadis and drought-tolerant turf to minimize environmental impact while creating a rigorous championship test. Since its opening, it has quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional maintenance and its role as a premier sanctuary of modern coastal golf, offering a refined and high-quality resort experience within a peaceful desert setting.
Did You Know? The Al Zorah ecosystem is home to nearly 60 species of birds, including massive flocks of flamingos that are often visible from the fairways. As a GEO Certified facility, the course was built with a deep emphasis on environmental preservation, utilizing the rising and falling tides of the Arabian Gulf to create a "living" golf course where the carry over water on holes like the 18th changes depending on when you tee off.
