Al Badia Golf Club

Overview: Al Badia Golf Club was an award-winning "oasis" course designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones II in the heart of Dubai Festival City. Opened in 2005, the course was famous for its lush, streamside landscaping and its innovative "rivers of sand"—vast waste areas that provided a striking visual contrast to the verdant fairways and eleven interconnected lakes. While the course officially closed to the public in 2017, it remains one of the most respected designs in the region, maintained as a private high-end facility for its owners and representing a benchmark in salt-tolerant turf management.

Did You Know? The course was the first in the region to utilize Platinum Paspalum grass extensively, which allowed it to be irrigated with recycled and brackish water. The clubhouse, inspired by the geometry of a desert rose, featured one of the most advanced golf academies in the world, and today the site continues to evolve with the addition of private, high-tech short-game areas that preserve the site's legacy of architectural excellence.
