Adare Manor

Overview: The Golf Course at Adare Manor runs beside the River Maigue in County Limerick, framed by the estate's mature trees, water features, sculpted ground, and historic manor setting. The 18-hole course plays to par 72 and 7,509 yards from the championship tees. Robert Trent Jones Senior created the original course, while Tom Fazio's later reconstruction rebuilt the playing surfaces, bunkers, greens, tees, drainage, and water features from the ground up. The current course combines parkland scale with precise tournament architecture and a carefully controlled relationship between the holes and the river.

History: Adare Manor's original golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior and opened in 1995. During the manor's major redevelopment in 2016-2017, Tom Fazio undertook a comprehensive reconstruction rather than a limited renovation. The work used large quantities of sand and new drainage infrastructure to prepare the course for year-round play and high-level competition. The Irish Open was staged at Adare Manor in 2007 and 2008, before the reconstructed course became the future Ryder Cup venue.

Did You Know? The course was designed with event infrastructure built into the property. Adare Manor's media material describes fibre-optic conduits and an internal road network that allow the venue to support large championships without having to retrofit the entire estate for each tournament.
