Adamstal Golf Club (Championship)

Overview: Adamstal Golf Club (Championship) is an 18-hole mountain course in the wooded valleys of Ramsau in Lower Austria. Designed by Jeff Howes, The mountain valleys determine the lines of play, and the course rewards a controlled ball flight over indiscriminate distance.The back-tee listing is par 70 and about 6,300 yards; steep ground makes line and trajectory more important than distance alone. Fairways are arranged through forested shelves and open ridges, so the right club often depends on the lie that will remain for the following shot.

History: The club began with nine holes in 1995 and expanded to the present 18-hole Championship Course in 1998. The separate Wallerbach nine is on the same property, so mixed facility listings can show different dates. Adamstal’s staged development explains why the club’s history and the Championship Course’s finished-routing date are not identical. The current 18-hole course is the result of expanding the original mountain idea rather than replacing it.
