Overview: Abu Dhabi City Golf Club holds the title of the oldest golf course in the capital, originally founded as a sand course in 1976. Redesigned as a grass layout by Ian Scott Taylor in 1998, the course is uniquely situated within the interior of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club horse racing track. This urban parkland course consists of a 9-hole loop played twice from different tee positions, offering a tight and technical challenge where narrow fairways and well-protected greens are framed by the track's white rails and the city's central skyline.
Did You Know? Known affectionately as the "People's Golf Club," it was the first to offer floodlit golf in Abu Dhabi, allowing the city's residents to play long after sunset. The environment is one of the most distinct in world golf; it is not uncommon to hear the thundering hooves of Arabian racehorses training just feet from the tee boxes, providing a surreal blend of tradition, equestrian sport, and urban golf.
