Abersoch Golf Club

Overview: Abersoch Golf Club sits on the Llŷn Peninsula in a landscape of links land, parkland and views across Cardigan Bay. The 18-hole course plays to par 69 at roughly 5,847 yards. Its character changes during the round, with coastal dunes and open ground giving way to a more sheltered inland section before the closing holes.

History: The club was founded on Boxing Day 1907 and the original nine holes were designed by six-time Open Champion Harry Vardon. Three additional links holes and a later parkland loop expanded the course to its present 18-hole form. The different stages were retained rather than levelled into a uniform style, which is why the course still has a clear split personality.

Did You Know? The first twelve holes are mainly seaside links, while the middle section has a parkland character. That change of terrain lets a single round move from dune golf to a more sheltered landscape without leaving the same compact site.
