Aalborg Golf Klub (Gul/Rød Sløjfe)

Overview: Situated on reclaimed polder land along the Limfjord in northern Denmark, the Gul/Rød (Yellow/Red) combination at Aalborg Golf Klub is an 18-hole parkland course designed by British architect John Harris. The layout features flat, wide fairways framed by mature pine and birch woodlands, strategic sand hazards, and subtly contoured putting surfaces. Exposed to Limfjord winds, the course demands accurate ball placement off the tee to secure clear angles into the greens.

History: Founded in 1908, Aalborg Golf Klub is the second-oldest golf club in Denmark. The club relocated to its current site in Restrup Enge and opened the original Harris-designed Red and Yellow loops in 1968. The course was built on sandy reclaimed land, which provides the turf with excellent natural drainage and a highly playable, firm playing surface year-round.

Did You Know? Because the course is built on polder land below fjord water levels, the club operates a sophisticated network of drainage canals and dykes that wind through the fairways, serving as both a critical water management system and a formidable hazard for players.
