Overview: Lakeview/Bayview is an 18-hole combination of two A. C. Read regulation nines at Naval Air Station Pensacola. Lakeview is described by the Florida Historic Golf Trail as a tree-lined nine that includes seven of the original holes, while Bayview is the newest regulation nine and provides views toward Bayou Grande and Pensacola Bay.
History: The A. C. Read complex originated in the wartime period and received nine additional holes in 1962. Architect William W. Amick blended the new work with the older course and reshaped parts of the existing layout. Jerry Pate led a major renovation in 2003, updating strategy while keeping the established routing through the naval-station woodland.
Did You Know? The Lakeview/Bayview label describes a specific 18-hole pairing, not an independent 18-hole club. Together with Bayou, the three nines create several combinations, and the regulation routes range from roughly 5,400 to 6,800 yards depending on the selected tees and pairing.
